Are you ready to save money and take control of your finances? Rise Calgary, in partnership with Momentum, invites you to join our exciting matched savings program, Earn and Learn.

What's involved?
Earn and Learn is a 6-month online program that helps Calgarians build savings and develop financial skills.
Participants save $20–$50 monthly in their own account, and Rise Calgary matches their savings 3:1. Meaning, by the end of the program, you will have saved between $120.00 - $300.00 which Rise Calgary will match between $360.00 - $900.00 giving you a total of of $480.00 - $1,200 to purchase an asset at the end of the program. Assets may include items like household appliances, laptop, damage deposit, and education.
Do I Qualify?
You may qualify for the program if you meet the following criteria:

Age: You are 18 years or older.

Location: You live in Calgary or the surrounding area.

Residency: You are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Income: Your total annual household income (before deductions) is at or below the following guidelines:

Can I join if I'm outside of Alberta?
Unfortunately, our program is available only to participants living in Calgary and the surrounding areas. If you reside in another province, there may be similar matched savings programs in your city.
I don't have a lot of savings. Can I still join?
Yes! You can still apply as long as you can save between $20-$50 after covering your rent, utilities, and other expenses and debts. However, if you are currently in bankruptcy, you will need to wait until you have documentation of discharge before joining.
What do I have to do in the program?
The program includes nine mandatory online workshops, held via Zoom on a biweekly schedule, typically in the evenings. In addition, you'll participate in four other sessions: an orientation, a graduation ceremony, and three special workshops featuring guest speakers.
You'll also be required to set aside $20-$50 into a savings account, but more detailed information will be provided once you start the program.
What if I miss a session?
No worries! As long as you attend a catch-up session, you'll stay on track to graduate. We understand that life can sometimes get in the way.
How can you contribute $3 for every $1 I save? It sounds too good to be true.
