Funders
Without the support of our major funders Rise Calgary wouldn't be able to do the work that we do supporting residents in their journeys and making sure that everyone moves forward.
United Way Calgary and Area
Thanks to the support of the United Way Calgary and Area, we have been able to administer critical programs such as the Basic Needs Fund, support residents to ensure their basic needs are met, and connect Calgarians with free low income tax filing services.
Calgary Foundation
With the support of the Calgary Foundation, we have been able to provide COVID relief through our Basic Needs Fund program, renovate our office spaces to be more welcoming to community members and allow for drop-in showers, and support the merger of Sunrise and BowWest to form Rise Calgary.
Government of Alberta
With the support of the Government of Alberta, Rise Calgary is able to provide opportunities for Calgarians to develop their communities through the Community Initiatives Program, as well as providing Financial Coaching programs so that low income Calgarians can take control of their finances and move out of poverty.
Service Canada
Service Canada provides support to Rise Calgary through their Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, allowing us to offer free low income tax filing and benefits navigation services to Calgarians in need, as well as supporting seniors in Calgary with accessing technology supports to stay connected during the pandemic, thanks to their New Horizons for Seniors program.
City of Calgary
Rise Calgary is excited to join the City of Calgary as we begin to innovate on ideas to move people out of poverty in our pilot project, Mobility Coaching.
This pilot program tests whether goal settings, coaching, and the principles of behavioral economics can create lasting improvements in the lives of Calgarians living on low and fixed incomes.
Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission
Through their charity casino program, the AGLC supports Rise Calgary with funding that subsidizes important operational expenses so that we can continue to support people in communities around Calgary.
