Need to file your taxes, we are here to help.
Thank you for choosing Rise Calgary to file your taxes this year. Our team and amazing tax volunteers work hard to ensure everyone is served in a timely manner and this year we have made some changes to make our tax filing processes easier for the volunteers and quicker for you.
Please note: The sooner you send in these requested documents, the quicker we can process your tax return.
Our tax services are open for approximately 9-10 months of the year.
How to file with Rise Calgary:
Complete the three attached documents:
Client Tax Questionnaire:
This gives the tax filing volunteer the information they need to assist with filing your tax return. Please make sure that this is filled out completely. If there is any missing information, it will delay your appointment.
Authorization Request – Signature Page
This allows the tax filing volunteer to access your tax information to then process your tax return. Tax filing volunteers will only have access to this for 24 hours once accessed. Please fill out all highlighted areas (Social Insurance Number, Given Name, Surname, Signature of Taxpayer, and Date of Signature).
CVITP Taxpayer Authorization TIS60
This allows Rise Calgary to file the return under the CVIT Program and submit the tax return on your behalf. Please complete section 1 Part A and B only.

2. Attach a copy of Photo ID (government or driver’s license is preferred).
3. Send all completed documents through email to Chantel Robins at chantel.robins@RiseCalgary.ca
or drop them off at one of our three office locations.
If you do not have access to a computer, printer, or scanner, or are uncomfortable with submitting your information via email, we invite you to come to our office spaces where an advocate can assist you.
Photos of the documents sent by email are acceptable.
4. Next Steps
Once all this documentation is provided, Rise Calgary will reach out to share the date that the tax filing volunteer will be filing your tax return. Our tax filing volunteers receive the files and work on a weekly basis to complete them (Monday to Sunday).
If your tax return has no errors, the volunteer will submit the tax return and you will receive confirmation that your return has been filed.
If there are errors, a Rise Calgary team member will get in touch with you to communicate and resolve the errors. Once the errors are completed, the tax filing volunteer will submit your tax return and you will be given confirmation that your tax return has been filed.
If you have any questions, please reach out as we would be happy to assist.
